no rest is a „sporty contribution“ to modern music. The musical material comes from the version for oboe and soprano saxophone, written in 1990. Catchy rhythmic patterns and harmonies give the work it’s structure, while the performer is almost never allowed to come to rest.
In 2004 a version was arranged for soprano saxophone and guitar which is now an integral part of the repertoire of the British-Australian duo Gerard McChrystal and Craig Ogden, who have recorded the work on CD.
